Blind Stars

Stars (Nakshatras / asterisms transited by the Moon) are termed blind when the distance is three either side of the Star occupied by the Sun.  Shubha Muhurthas are avoided during the stars counted 1, 2, 3, 25, 26 and 27 from Sun’s star. They are indicated by the symbol ›.

Dead Stars

 Stars (Nakshatras / asterisms transited by the Moon) counted 1, 2, 10, 19, 27 from the Sun are termed dead stars.  They are indicated by the symbol ›.

Hora:

Horas are the hourly segments of the day.  The lords of the weekday generally  governs the first Hora.  The lords of the weekdays i.e. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thrursday, Friday and Saturday are  "Sun", "Moon", "Mars", "Mercury", "Jupiter", "Venus", "Saturn" respectively. The sixth lord follows next. Sun,Venus ,Mercury,  Moon, Saturn, Jupiter,  Mars  will thus be the order.  In Western astrology some follow straight series of lords as hora lords.

• Sun Hora:
  Strong when Sun in sign: Leo, Aries and Stars: Krittika, Uthra and Uthrashada. Governs powers, authority, influence, dignity and honour. Indicates vatality, immunity and speedy recovery from illness. Auspicious for medication, surgery, vaccination,inoculation. Posts: President, Vice President, Gonvernors, Mayors etc. Beneficial for contracts, writing, documentation, politics, purchase of cereals and spices. Orange coloured articles. Prayers to Lord: Surya Narayana (Vishnu)".

•  Moon Hora:
  Strong when Moon in Cancer and Taurus, Mondays and in star: Rohini, Hastha and Sravana.Auspicious for approaching people, moods, agriculture especially greens, sugar, milk and liquid produces, resins, petrochemicals and acids. Select for successful journeys, appreciation of capital, diving and sea–mining and music. Professions: midwives, nurses, defence personnel,textile etc. Goddess: Gowri / Lalita ".

• Mars Hora:
  Strong in signs: Aries, Scorpio, Leo, Capricorn, Tuesdays and in stars: Mrigasirisha, Chitra and Dhanishta. Auspicious for war preparations, filing suit, settlement, purchase of land, kilns and mines Favourable for union, jewellery, animal husbandry, leather and hides, tea coffee, automobile, timber, furniture and machineries in general. Lord: Subramanya / Narasimha. "

• Mercury Hora:
   Strong when Mercury in signs: Gemini, Virgo, Wednesday and in stars: Ashlesha, Jyeshta and Revathy. Auspicious for commencing education and indicates colleges, schools, accountancy, mathematics, books, publishing and paininting. Denotes nerves and communication world. Profession: ambassadors, merchants in oil seeds, wheat, jute, onions, greengram and watches. Lord Vishnu / Anjaneya.

• Jupiter Hora:
  Strong when Jupiter or Moon transits signs: Sagittarius, Pisces and Cancer, Thursdays and in stars: Punarvasu, Visakha and Poorvapathrapada. Auspiciuos for banking, commencing medication, meeting ministers and dignitaries. Indicates religion, spirituality, astrology, institutions, law and banking. Favourable for expansion and improvement.

• Venus Hora:
  Strong when Venus or Moon transits signs: Taurus, Libra or Pisces, Fridays and stars: Bharani, Poorvaphalguni and Poorvashada. Commencement of any matter in this hora a way to success. Auspicious for cooling the opponents, fixing up new ties, purchase of jewellery, vehicles and for initiating rites, poojas and mantras.

• Saturn Hora:
